2009-01-29

Freezing rain on top of previous snow created a beautifully slick surface shining in the early morning light. Would have loved to have caught the deer that left these tracks.

Something a little abstract on Jackson Pollock's birthday :-) Book shelf zoom blur. First time I've ever tried this.

2009-01-27

Found on a walk at lunch today. Just enough snow to cover the ground, but not enough to cover this seed pod. More substantial snow in the forecast for tonight :-)

2009-01-26

Backlit cyclamen leaf. I liked the strong lines and the details in this particular leaf.

Young cyclamen leaf on silver. Warm light from the left, cool from the right.

Ice forms in the creek.

2009-01-23

Shot on a walk at lunch today. The center of a the mill stone from a grist mill first constructed in about 1640. The stone is all that remains today.

2009-01-22

Almost no time to shoot anything today. This pear was on the kitchen counter.

2009-01-21

A little bit of snow and late day sun producing shadows of a tree on a small hill.

2001-01-20

Between pineapple buttons.

2009-01-19

I went to shoot an old stone arch bridge, but the details underneath were more interesting on this day. I'll be back to shoot the bridge at some point when the light is right.

2009-01-18

Barn detail from a local vineyard. I liked how this view reveals details about both the construction and decay.

2009-01-17

Light doing interesting things.

2009-01-15

A distressed weeping nut. Kind of how I felt today.

2009-01-14

Twilight shot just before I stopped for coffee this morning on the way to work. I thought the warm lights in the parking light worked well with the deep rich blue sky. First shot with my new 24-70 f2.8L :-)

2009-01-13

Moon star this morning. I liked the color and cloud movement in the sky.

2009-01-12

Got busy with life yesterday, so I played with some lighting and a little black velvet later in the day.

2009-01-11

Got together with a friend who brought some extra speedlites, umbrellas and cactus triggers. My first real off camera flash shooting. The small umbrellas I have use constant light. The models were paid in ice cream :-)

2009-01-10

Salt put down on a step, but the snow never really materialized.

2009-01-09

A covered walkway that caught my eye a while ago. I thought straightening the slanted ceiling gave it an interest tilted effect.

2009-01-08

End of day light bringing out the details and texture in this interesting little section of a sycamore just across the Pennsylvania border in to Delaware.

2009-01-07

A scene I pass every day on my commute. Raining and fleeting light in this shot.

2009-01-06

Upsidedown infrared kitty. Used the speedlite 580 EX II and a Gary Fong Cloud Lightsphere for this shot. Not my favorite, but it was the best I could do today.

This looks much better blown up!

2009-01-04

Nice light on the local courthouse this morning.

2009-01-03

Shadow of a chain from a porch swing against a post on our deck caught my eye today.

2009-01-02

Was hoping for a different shot this morning that involved the sky, but it wasn't happening so I went with a backup. This is one of the doors to the Delaware Museum of Art - not far from where I work. The lights on the inside change colors. I thought green played well with the red brick.

2009-01-01

First of my 1 image per day for 2009. Clementines on the kitchen counter.
